52: I Sold My Scars

Have you lost interest in your relationship with God because of worldly distractions? Genesis 4:7 reminds us "If you do what is right, will you not be accepted? But if you do not do what is right, sin is crouching at your door; it desires to have you, but you must rule over it.” Jesus paid the ultimate price for our scars.

Scars have been defined by Merriam-Webster as a lasting moral or emotional injury. It can also be defined as a mark remaining (as on the skin) after injured tissue has healed. In this episode of the Confidence Restored Podcast recorded on 11/1 host Tomeria Jordan talks about what it means to sell our scars. She discusses the biblical meaning of the number 11 and how the story of Hosea teaches us the importance of repentance, redemption, and restoration. In fact, God commanded Hosea to marry a woman of whoredom (Hosea 1:2) who eventually had three children with the prophet Hosea whose names and his wife's unfaithfulness provides a message to the people of Israel. A message that still applies today. In fact, Hosea 14:1 states "Return, Israel, to the Lord your God. Your sins have been your downfall!" Sins are still our downfall and if we are not careful and fail to repent we will face the consequences of our actions. Yet, if we have faith (Hebrews 11: 1) in the word we know that if we repent we will be forgiven through the power of Jesus Christ. 

Today's Affirmation: I sold my scars, God brought me for a price. I will live and not die. I will accomplish the will of God for my life because he ordained it before I was born.
