On this episode of The CC: America Podcast, host Tomeria Jordan shares her why. This episode was recorded on 3/14/21 which is her great aunt's birthday and also the day she was called home in 2010. 2010 was a life changing year for Tomeria in many ways because it was that year that she decided that who she is isn't defined by a title but by who God says she is. She decided in 2010 that she wanted to live a life focused on inspiring the lives of others through service, dedication and faith. Because of the steps she took in 2010 and over the years, she is now doing what she feels she was put on this earth to do including moving forward with the vision for CC: America also known as Confidence Centers of America.
Life has taught Tomeria some valuable lessons and she is better for it. Whether this is your first show or you've been listening for a while this episode explains the why behind the show as well as some nuggets to inspire, uplift and encourage.

On August 27, 2020 I jotted down the title of today's show, "Who you 'post' to be?" At the time I was thinking about how often people have no idea what is really happening in someone's life, they only see what people choose to show them. That being said, people may feel like they know everything from the moments or memories people share. It's safe to say that you can make some reasonable deductions about someone's hobby's, family life, occupation, etc. but there are a lot of things we don't see. In fact, over the last six weeks I was faced with my own health challenges yet what people saw was a smiling, happy go lucky podcaster who was dancing and feeling good. In my post descriptions I shared some of what was going on but not everything as I choose to keep some aspects of my life private as we should. That being said, I have been hearing more recently about how often I post, what I post, when I post, etc. As a result, I said this is the perfect time to share this episode to help encourage others and also provide some perspective.
In addition to my own personal testimony, I heard a clip from the Today Show last week where they were discussing Tom Cruise's deepfake videos that were trending on TikTok. In the clip, they were talking about how a visual effects specialist was able to create seemingly realistic videos of the actor performing magic tricks and playing golf but Tom Cruise wasn't actually in either of the videos. Catch up on the story HERE.
Deepfakes made an appearance in 2017 and have been used more frequently since then. This Artificial Intelligence (AI) is making it hard for people to identify between what's real and what's fake which is also another important topic regarding social media. You may be comparing your life to what you think is real so it's important to take stock of what you are comparing yourself and your life to. After all Astro Turf (artificial turf) may look better than grass but it's not the real thing.
On this episode, host Tomeria Jordan talks about:
Why this is such an important topic;
Distinguishing between what's real and what's fake;
Gaining perspective regarding social media; and
Avoiding social media burnout
This episode is real and relevant. Be sure to share it with your family and friends because you never know who needs this information and encouragement. Be blessed.

February was American Heart Month and March is Women’s History Month in the United States. To close out American Heart Month and Kick off Women’s History Month host Tomeria Jordan had the pleasure of interviewing Tara Robinson, she is the founder of the Black Heart Association. She is also a school counselor specializing in childhood trauma and U.S. Army Veteran who resides in Fort Worth, Texas.
Tara’s story is unique and powerful. After suffering three heart attacks over the course of one week, with the last nearly claiming her life, Tara discovered that she was in a fight for her life. She later realized that the black community was also silently losing that same fight against heart disease, so she decided to fight back! Together with her husband, The Black Heart Association (BHA), was created through their survivor story, to fight for the thousands of minority men, women and children, and their loved ones, who will experience the negative impact of heart disease or stroke each year. Tara is a survivor and an ambassador for Go Red for Women, working to raise awareness regarding the issue of women and heart disease.
Tara’s story has been featured on several major media outlets including Good Morning America, Essence, Women’s Health and the American Heart Association to name a few. Tara is a trailblazer and inspiration and we are grateful for the work she is doing to empower others to keep fighting for their life.
On this episode Tara shares:
Her personal testimony,
Why she started BHA,
Tips for taking care of yourself, and
What you can expect from BHA in the short and long-term.
This is an interview you don't want to miss. Be sure to share it with your family and friends because you never know who needs this information to save their life. Be blessed.

As part of the CC: America E-FIT Series, Keith Kelley, Retired Financial Analyst and CPA, provides an overview of three asset classes that people use to build net worth. You may recall his special presentation on Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Day discussing his perspective on why black net worth is significantly less than white net worth and what we can do personally to close the gap (episode 25). These nuggets of wisdom aren't only meant to educate, they are meant to inspire change which ultimately leads to transformation.
One of the asset classes that Keith mentions is stocks. If you've been watching this week's news you probably saw first hand how supply and demand resulted in GameStop stock rising more than 14,000% based on the social experiment led by Reddit users from the r/WallStreetBets forum. While this social experiment proved very lucrative for some, there are a lot of people who may have missed the wave due to lack of information, knowledge or understanding about how the stock market works as well as available funds to invest. While Keith doesn't discuss this particular stock, he helps everyday people understand in basic terms how assets like stock can help increase their overall net worth.
I promise this will be 10 minutes well spent.
