Tonight is a special presentation in honor of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Day as well as Dr. King's legacy and fight for equality and human rights.
Keith Kelley, Retired Financial Analyst and Certified Public Accountant shares his perspective on why black net worth is significantly less than white net worth. Some estimates reflect that average black net worth is about $35,000 while white net worth is approximately $150,000. As a part of that exploration, he discusses why the disparity exist, some basic financial terms and instruments to build net worth to close the gap.
Uncle Keith as he is affectionately known to me helped me save to purchase my first home at 25 so this is information that I know you will find valuable and insightful.

23: Dear 2020 You Taught Me Some Things About Life, Love and Myself
Wednesday Dec 30, 2020
Wednesday Dec 30, 2020
Whew, 2020, what a whirlwind!!! A global pandemic; deaths of notable public figures as well as within our family and amongst our friendship circles; black lives matter protests and growing awareness and actions being taken about the disparities that exist for people of color; the election of President-elect Joe Biden and Vice President-elect Kamala Harris, the first black woman and the first Asian woman to hold the title of Vice President in the United States. These are only a handful of the things that happened this year but when you put it in perspective you'll notice that 2020 was rough to say the least but there were also many blessings. One thing that happened for me is growth. I learned several lessons about life, love and myself in general that I hope inspires others to take inventory of where they are, what they've learned in 2020 and what they will do differently going forward.

In this episode of the CC: America Podcast host, Tomeria Jordan, and guests get real about the holidays. We recognize that it's not always a happy time for everyone so we share what we do to get through. With Covid-19 keeping us in quarantine it's important to find ways to connect with others and keep your spirits high.
Seasonal affective disorder impacts some people in climates where there is less sunlight during certain times of the year. Symptoms vary by person but can include social withdrawal, fatigue, depression, etc. This discussion is not meant to replace the care of psychologists, medical doctors, counselors or other healthcare professionals. It's just a real conversation with real people who want to see others get free.
