What is clear is that there are a lot of double standards in life. Whether in dealings with family, friends, acquaintances, co-workers, etc. they exist.
 
A double standard has been defined by Merriam-Webster as "a situation in which two people, groups, etc., are treated very differently from each other in a way that is unfair to one of them." The goal of this episode is not to scold, ridicule, or reprimand but simply to remind others to consider how their actions impact other people or groups. Sure, we get it, "life's not fair" but think for a second if the shoe were on the other foot would our actions or reactions "depend on the situation."
 
Remember, it's easy to "walk a mile" on a road you've only heard about.
 
Removing double standards is true diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging (DEIB) beyond the buzz.

Who is Winzo Raps? General Winzomuch, or Winzo, as most people know him, is a fuzzy, lovable, sneaker-wearing cat taking the world by storm. The self-proclaimed, "Coolest Cat Alive," started his positivity-filled soliloquies in 2014 and the rest is history. Winzo has a tendency to dance, sing, and rap on occasion. Hence the moniker, WinzoRaps. When he's not chatting basketball, football, or music, he's ranting about the dope sneakers in his massive shoe collection. Winzo is an advocate for children’s literacy and in his spare time reads to kids in the Atlanta, Georgia area. He also reads on his YouTube channel.

53: Survive the Sift

Boost of Confidence (BOC): This short message is a reminder to continue walking in confidence aka faith. I had the pleasure of listening to Pastor Steven Furtick of Elevation Church deliver a powerful yet timely message on YouTube called Yes You! In this message he talks about Simons transition to Peter, one of God's 12 disciples, when God told him he would fish for men instead. Simon didn't believe God could use him because he was a sinner but God saw beyond what Simon could see. Today I encourage you to see beyond where you are and see where God can take you. Everyone is facing a storm others cannot see and it doesn't make your storm any more or any less than anyone else's, it's just your storm. So keep your head up and remember that we will survive the sifting. The devil asked if he could sift Simon as wheat and he wants to do the same with us. He has no authority only permission which God limits. Take the limits off of what God can do because you will survive the sift.

52: I Sold My Scars

Have you lost interest in your relationship with God because of worldly distractions? Genesis 4:7 reminds us "If you do what is right, will you not be accepted? But if you do not do what is right, sin is crouching at your door; it desires to have you, but you must rule over it.” Jesus paid the ultimate price for our scars.
Scars have been defined by Merriam-Webster as a lasting moral or emotional injury. It can also be defined as a mark remaining (as on the skin) after injured tissue has healed. In this episode of the Confidence Restored Podcast recorded on 11/1 host Tomeria Jordan talks about what it means to sell our scars. She discusses the biblical meaning of the number 11 and how the story of Hosea teaches us the importance of repentance, redemption, and restoration. In fact, God commanded Hosea to marry a woman of whoredom (Hosea 1:2) who eventually had three children with the prophet Hosea whose names and his wife's unfaithfulness provides a message to the people of Israel. A message that still applies today. In fact, Hosea 14:1 states "Return, Israel, to the Lord your God. Your sins have been your downfall!" Sins are still our downfall and if we are not careful and fail to repent we will face the consequences of our actions. Yet, if we have faith (Hebrews 11: 1) in the word we know that if we repent we will be forgiven through the power of Jesus Christ. 
Today's Affirmation: I sold my scars, God brought me for a price. I will live and not die. I will accomplish the will of God for my life because he ordained it before I was born.

51: Don‘t Forget to Bring Your Chair! Featuring The Fortitude Collective

On the latest episode of The Confidence Restored Podcast by CC: America host, Tomeria Jordan, interviews the founders of The Fortitude Collective whose mission is to create a space for the next generation of black and brown women that reaffirms, supports, and encourages them to “bring their chair” to every space they occupy. Their vision is for every black and brown woman to own their space in the world and of course "bring their chair." "Bringing their chair" as they so eloquently put it is based on the quote by their late Soror, Shirley Chisholm, who said "if they don't give you a seat at the table, bring a folding chair." Congresswoman Chisholm knew all about this as the first Black congresswoman (1968), representing New York State in the U.S. House of Representatives for seven terms. Similarly each of these ladies are blazing trails in their fields, from education to entrepreneurship these Sorors of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority Inc. are definitely a collective force, leading within and throughout their communities. Representation in our workplaces, boardrooms and elected offices is necessary and the ladies of The Fortitude Collective are ensuring this shift happens now. After all it's the year of the woman.

50: Confidence Restored

How to build confidence in yourself was trending up 600% this past weekend on Google Trends which speaks to where we are in our society. So many people are trying to figure out who they are in the context of situations, relationships, their career, etc. On this episode of The Confidence Restored Podcast presented by CC: America, host Tomeria Jordan shares her experience with restoring her confidence in spite of situations and word curses that would seek to destroy her self-esteem. She has developed a passion for helping others, especially women, recognize who they are and whose they are in a society that would try to minimize and devalue the very gifts that God has given us. In the midst of her own personal battle with giants that seek to destroy her identity she has decided to keep the faith and keep pushing ahead knowing that what is ahead is greater than what is behind and who is for her is greater than any giant that the enemy would try to use to discourage her. She speaks with dignity and strength, providing encouragement to others, and  believing that whomever is supposed to hear this message will and that God will bring the increase.

47: Tornado Outbreak - A Survivor’s Story on Faith in the Midst of the Storm

On this episode of The CC: America Podcast host Tomeria Jordan shares a lesson learned from surviving an F4 Tornado with wind speeds over 200 mph on August 6, 1993 which happens to be her late great-grandmother's birthday. Corine Allen affectionately known as "Granny" is pillar of faith in Tomeria's life. She has always had faith in God and exemplified unconditional love every day. That faith was most evident during this lifechanging disaster.  With no forewarning, Tomeria and her family found themselves scrambling to take shelter within her great-grandmother’s home.  As the wind was howling, the home began violently shaking but Granny was not shaken. Encouraging Tomeria, her great-aunt and cousin to “be quiet, be still.”
As Tomeria navigates life, now more than ever, Granny's words still ring true and she encourages all show listeners when faced with life's storms to “be quiet, be still” because God has everything under control.
